Viewing the script files available for each game

Game names are at the top-most level in the list (on the left side of the opening and edit screens). If game names have been entered into the list, the names are always visible. Clicking on a "+" symbol next a game's name causes all the script files for that game to be displayed. Clicking on a "-" symbol next to a game's name hides the script file names.

Selecting a single script file as the "active" file when many are available

If multiple scripts are available under a game's name, only one can can be "active" (used by the game) at a time. The active script under a game will have a check-mark next to the script name.

To make a script the active script, open the desired script, and then select Make Script Active from the Options menu. A script also is made the active script when it is edited and saved.

Note: If there is no check-mark next to a script under a particular game name, then the game has been disabled (the game is no longer partnered with a script, in this case). Making a script active automatically re-activates the game title.

Adding and removing game names

If you wish to use your ThrustMaster control as more than a DirectInput game control, you need to add the game's name to the ThrustMapper's list of games. This allows software to automatically recognize when the game is run, and set up the control for that particular game.

To add a game, select New Game Title under the File menu. A dialog box appears asking for a game name and the location of the game program. A Browse button is available so you can navigate to the game location directly.

To delete a game from the game list, click on the desired game name and then select Delete from under the File menu. When you delete a game name from the list, its script files are removed also.

Importing a script file

The Import Script option under the File menu imports (copies) an existing script file. Select a game name from the list first, and then Import Script. In the dialog box that appears when you select this option, enter the new script name and the path to the file (or use the browse button to locate the file).

If you wish to copy a script that was loaded during software installation or you created, go the MAPS directory (the path usually is C:\TM\M3DI\MAPS. The file names have an STS extension, and contain both the game name and script name (example: QUAKE_MYFILE.STS). If the script file is in another directory or on another disk drive, use the Browse button to locate the file.

The new script file automatically will be saved to the MAPS directory, using the currently selected game and the your new name as part the name. Example: If you selected the game Deader, and added a game as "MYFILE2", the new file name would be DEADER_MYFILE2.STS. The new script will appear in the games list, and can be edited like any other script file.

Copying a script file

Use the Import Script option under the File menu to copy a file. See Importing a script file.

Creating a new script

New scripts are created for a game by selecting the desired game name from the games list, and they selecting New Script under the File menu. The
procedures for assigning commands to buttons are available under a separate topic.

Deleting scripts

A script name can be deleted from the games list, making its associated file unavailable to the game. The file itself is not deleted from the MAPS directory.

To delete a script from the games list, click on the script name and then select Delete from the File menu.

Note 1: If you delete the file that is currently open (in the edit screen), the display will be returned to the opening screen.

Note 2: If you delete the active script under a game, the game is disabled. To re-activate the game, open a script file, select Options | Make Script Active, and exit.

Disabling all script use with a game

If you wish to use your ThrustMaster control only as a DirectInput device (no active script file), open a script under the desired game, and then select Make Game Inactive from the Options menu. Scripts will no longer be used with that game when it is run. Check-marks will be absent from the script list under the game's name in the game list.

To re-activate the game, select a script under the game's name, then select Make Script Active under the Options menu.

Changing the name of a script file

File names can be changed by selecting the file name in the game list and editing the text.

Changing a game's name

Game names can only be added or deleted (they cannot be changed).

Changing the path to a game

The ThrustMapper can do its job only if it knows the correct location of a game program. If you change the installed location of a game, click on the game's name to highlight it, and right-click with your mouse. A pop-up menu will appear. Select Properties and change the path through the dialog box that appears.
